Final New Council Meeting
Call to Order
Frank Newman, President
Meeting called at 6:40 pm at Northeast Community Lutheran Church.
Council Members Present (10): Frank Newman, Pastor Evelyn Dahlke, Tom Fischer, Heather Fokken, Pastor Craig Pederson, Kathy Munson, Dan Scoggins, Marilyn Peterson, Adelheid Koski, Marko Fields. Not Present (1) Joe Tricola.

Transition Task Force: Andrea Stelljes, Kathy Schadendorf, Darrell Lind, Pastor Ken Defor. Virginia Schnabel. Not Present Ruth Foster, Bill Speake, Intern Pastor Lori Youngvorst.
Devotions
Tom Fischer Tom read a devotion from Chuck Swindoll’s, “A rabbit on the swim team.”
Pastor Craig offered an opening prayer. Frank will do the devotions next meeting.
Task Force Update
Virginia Schnabel • Frank thanked Virginia for all the work she has done in the last week to paint and clean the building.
• Virginia recognized Darrell for all his time with the floors and carpeting.
Facility Planning Team
Marilyn Peterson
• Real Estate agents have been visiting all three churches to estimate the value of all three buildings and how long it would take to sell each of them if each were to be put up for sale.
• May 7th is the next meeting of the Facility Planning Team with the Dissolution teams to select a real estate agent.
• June 24th, deadline for first draft of a report on a site selection.
• Marilyn reported that there are some repairs to do if we are to remain at Emanuel’s building.
• Holy Triune may have to be brought up to code to sold to a new congregation. Demolition would be an expensive option.
• The letter for the Synod is still in process. Dave Wangard is going to write it. Frank has been talking with Dave about the letter.
Regular Council Meetings
Frank Newman Frank asked if we need bi-weekly meetings through the summer. After a discussion, the group agrees to have two meetings in May and consider if we need two meetings each month in the summer at the next council meeting.
Transition Task Force

• Next Tuesday is moving day at St. Paul’s.
• Please do not put anything up on the walls at NECL. This protects the paint while it cures, and TTF wants to be involved in any decorating or wall hangings.
• This Saturday is a work day, starting at 10am at NECL.
• Painting is slightly over budget but other things are under budget.
• Kitchen – moving HT and St. Paul’s equipment to Emanuel as needed.
• New Phone numbers and website

Corrections to Devotions section, Job Descriptions, Finance Team, Legal issues, Task Force progress, Hiring revisited sections. Motion to approve the minutes with corrections Motion: Koski

Congregational Meeting
Frank Newman
A Congregational meeting will be held May 20th. Needs to be announced at next two church services. Items to be presented; Constitution, Ratify the Council, Calling of the Pastors, and Budget. We will have a potluck at the meeting.
Staff Hiring
We have offered Jennifer Schultz the congregational administrator. We offered Beth Wilford the Assistant administrator position. Both have accepted.
• Custodian – interviews are in process. The pay that was discussed for the custodian is not what the market rate appears to be. We will need to offer slightly more.
• Music Director - Russ has posted for the music director’s position. This position will be filled by the end of June.
• Heather will be sending job descriptions to the Council members to review.
Motion: The council approves the hiring of Jennifer Schultz and Beth Wilford.

Rooms
Frank Newman
• Pastor Craig’s Office will be the front room, by the elevators on 2nd floor.
• Church administrator’s office - Jennifer will be in the current church office room.
• Administrative assistant office - Beth will use the former Sunday school room, former copy room.
• Oromo Sunday School room - The “God is Awesome” room will be the Oromo’s Sunday school room.
• Intern Pastor Lori’s office - will be the current counting room.
• Youth room – is the green room, next to the nursery.
• Nursery room - is still the Nursery room.
• NESCRC will stay where they are.
• Mercy Seat - will use the back room of NESCRC, which opens onto the rear stair area.
• Sunday School rooms – 3 rooms on the west side.
• Quilters – 2 rooms on the east side.
Council to ask the TTF to name the rooms with consistent room names or numbers so the rooms can be described more clearly.
New Business
Marko Fields
Fresh start, Narcotics anonymous would like to use meeting space from 6pm to 7pm each Friday. This meeting would have 15-20 people. Narcotics Anonymous needs to know if we approve this usage by May 17th for Narcotic’s anonymous’ next business meeting.
